At Aawen 4×4 we customise every tour to make sure you get the most from your experience. Our operators assist you through the planning stages to make sure your trip is as well planned and prepared as possible. The level of difficulty and places visited can all be adjusted to meet your specific needs.

Depending on the length of trip chosen, the number of vehicles and the destination, requirements for trips may vary. Our operator will guide you through all the necessary preparations for your tour or training exercise.

Basic Tour Requirements

You need a 4WD, a sense of adventure, a desire to see some of our great country, good humour and some common sense.

Your 4WD will need to be in good condition, with tyres with a min tread depth of 10mm and fitted with a working UHF radio wired directly to a battery.

You will need to carry at least 40 litres of drinking and washing water or more, depending on the time of year, your destination, and the number of people in your vehicle.

You will need to carry your own food, eating, cooking and camping equipment and clothes, shoes and personal toiletries, etc.

Our Operator will assist in identifing and sourcing appropriate products and accessories to help you do this. Our planning process identifies most of the food stuff and gear that you will need to carry and we provide guidance in packing, menu planning (we have a chef on staff), vehicle preparation, and travellers pre-trip preparation. During the conduct of the tour we will assist or train as required in areas such as basic camping, hygiene, on-road and off-road driving techniques, rest management, and camp cooking. Our operators may be able to carry small amounts of your perishables if required.
